The 5: Ways to Experience Italy

APRIL

IN THE BACARI OF VENICE

Find us bacari-hopping through Venice with Valeria Necchio, sampling a plethora of cicchetti (traditional tapas-like small bites). For three nights and three days, Valeria will take Italy Segreta guests on an adventure around Venice, discovering the city’s artisans and culinary culture. We’ll shop at the Rialto fish market, cook together in the beautiful Casa Flora, and take a private boat tour to visit a Venetian glass factory and a prized Venissa winery.

ON A PRIVATE LAKE

We can’t wait to have lunch alongside La Foleia’s private lake–carpeted with pink water lilies and lotuses, and flanked by two fairy-tale, rose-coloured villas. Join us for a one-off food and wine experience that will celebrate the art of the Italian table, centered around conviviality and the celebration of life through food. The 12 person lunch will be prepared by renowned Giancarlo Morelli, who embodies the essence of an eccentric and creative cook.

IN A FLORENTINE KITCHEN

A kitchen in Florence with Emiko Davies is the perfect place to eat delicious, in-season Italian meals. For our Italy Segreta cooking classes, the award-winning Australian-Japanese food writer will bring you to the farmers market to source ingredients, before taking you to the Riccardo Barthel Cooking School with your bountiful baskets. The lesson will be followed by a delicious Florentine lunch with wines to pair.

IN A VINTAGE CAR, DRIVING THROUGH THE TUSCAN HILLS

Hop in one of five 1970s cabriolets for a three-day trip to Tuscany’s most iconic and spectacular landscapes. We’ll take you on a route through gentle undulations, rows of cypress trees, medieval fortifications and fine Brunello vineyards. And of course, there will be food: traditional trattorias, classic Tuscan restaurants and Michelin-starred fine dining.

IN A WHEAT FIELD

Yes, a wheat field. In this wheat field surrounding the beautiful Tuscan farmhouse Villa Cozzano, we’ll host a 12-person, 4-course dinner with wines to pair, illuminated by lanterns and candles. Nestled in the rolling hills of Siena, in the countryside between Montepulciano and Castiglione del Lago, Villa Cozzano is an open window onto the magical world of Tuscany.
