Tell us a bit more about your background and your current work:
My story was born completely by chance because no one in my family played golf. One Sunday, with a friend of my mother’s, I tried it–it was love at first sight. Now, I’m in my tenth year of professionalism on the European Tour, traveling practically all over the world for the sport.
Why did you choose to stay in Italy?
In my early career, I lived in Rome, and then I moved to Dubai for three years. Now, I’m back in Rome. In Italy, you live very well and the country has many qualities that aren’t anywhere else. I realized it even more since I was always traveling. The food, the people, the kindness… You can’t beat it.
What do you see for the future of golf in Italy?
Now is a beautiful time for golf in Italy. There are 9 Italians on the European Tour, and the Ryder Cup just took place. With the right strategy and commitment, I foresee a great development in the sport in the coming years.
What are the greatest obstacles and satisfactions that you face working in this country?
On a natural level, Italy offers everything from north to south. And for the way of life, it’s the best in the world. For sure there are obstacles, like impossible bureaucracy, but every place can be improved.
