Venice: Food & Artisans with Valeria Necchio

Join us for our first Venetian Retreat at Casa Flora

From 7th to 10th November

The retreat will be led by Valeria Necchio, acclaimed food writer and photographer, who lives and works in Venice; guests will be staying at Hotel Flora, an old school family run hotel, which persistently retains the charm of Venice from the past — proving that a luxury stay doesn’t have to be overly expensive. Hotel Flora offers an experience that goes well beyond the “ABC’s” of hospitality, showing you Venice from an insider’s point of view.

The retreat will revolve around food and artisans: 3 nights and 3 full days in the company of Valeria walking the streets of Venice, sampling cicchetti (traditional tapas-like small bites) in bacari, eating in the most emblematic restaurants, shopping at the Rialto fish market and cooking together in the beautiful Casa Flora; the retreat will also include a full day private boat tour in the neighboring islands with a visit to a glass factory, a wine tasting at the prized Venissa winery and lunch in the colourful Burano. Lastly, you’ll be visiting local ateliers and craftsmen who, to this day,  keep alive ancient and rare artisan traditions.

You’ll be living Venice as a true insider in the company of locals and during a quieter period of the year which often takes mystical contours thanks to the magical fog.
