Venice: Food & Artisans with Valeria Necchio

A Three-Day Venetian Retreat with a Local

Ever dreamed of a three-day getaway to Venice full of food, wine and artisan crafts? We have it covered. This private retreat–which you can book for yourself, family and friends–will be led by Valeria Necchio, acclaimed food writer and photographer, who lives and works in Venice; guests will be staying at Hotel Flora, an old school family run hotel, which persistently retains the charm of Venice from the past, proving that a luxury stay doesn’t have to be overly expensive. Hotel Flora offers an experience that goes well beyond the “ABC’s” of hospitality, showing you Venice from a locals’ point of view.

Three nights and three full days in the company of Valeria, walking the streets of Venice, sampling cicchetti (traditional tapas-like small bites) in bacari, eating in the most emblematic restaurants, shopping at the Rialto fish market and cooking together recipes from her cookbook “Veneto”. The trip will also include a full day private boat tour in the neighboring islands with a visit to a glass factory, a wine tasting at the prized Venissa winery and lunch in the colorful Burano. Lastly, you’ll have private visits to local ateliers and craftsmen who, to this day, keep alive ancient and rare artisan traditions in Venice.

You’ll be able to live Venice as a true insider in the company of locals, a unique experience especially if you book during a quieter period of the year when the city often takes on mystical contours thanks to the magical fog.
