Truffle Hunt in the Green Heart of Italy
Umbria's Black Treasure Unveiled
Amidst the Umbrian valleys and hills between Assisi and Spoleto, on the flanks of the beautiful village of Trevi, lies a magical and fascinating place that oozes land and tradition, San Pietro a Pettine.
The estate takes its name from the rural Romanesque church that stands within the property, entirely restored and renovated by the owner Carlo Caporicci and his family, to be returned intact to its age-old splendour. In these uncontaminated places steeped in profound spirituality, chosen by Saint Francis as a stopover on his way to Rome, surrounded by the grandeur of centuries-old woods and a multitude of private truffle grounds, Carlo Caporicci has established his home and the Azienda Agricola San Pietro a Pettine. They have been bringing the best fresh truffles and preserved products to tables all over the world.
The experience, designed exclusively for Italy Segreta’s guests, will consist in a truffle hunt in the company of the farm’s historic truffle hunter and will include a visit to the newly established Distillery that produces a grappa with the farm’s own truffles. The experience will include either a brunch, if done in the morning, or a dinner, if done in the afternoon.
