Eat like a local near Casa Olivetta

Husband and Wife team behind Casa Olivetta, Colette Dinnigan & Bradley Cocks share with us their favorite spots near their ancient farmhouse

La Capasa | Grottaglia

When tradition meets taste … wonderful things happen. Typical dishes of rustic cuisine: between ancient flavors and traditional recipes in Grottaglie, a must visit town for all ceramic lovers.

Alba Chiara | Savelletri di Fasano

Very simple, no frills, but fun seaside dining – family run, with great locally caught seafood.

La Peschiera | Savelletri di Fasano

Here you can find daily seafood feasts: octopus, crudi (raw platters), gallinella al guazzetto (fish stew), and our favorite “tortelloni ripieni di fave e cicoria” (tortelloni stuffed with fava and chicory).

La Lampara | Gallipoli

Gallipoli is well known for its fish markets and eating at La Lampara is like eating at one of them, albeit in a slightly more refined setting. Order the catch of the day!

Taverna del Porto | Tricase

Two words, simply exceptional, and their new pizzeria upstairs (open only for dinner) is just as good.

Lo Scalo | Marina di Novaglie

Beach club, where you can jump off the rocks into crystal clear waters and have some of the best seafood right afterwards, but as you know you have to wait at least 2 hours to jump in post lunch.

Vitemia | Speziale

The town of Speziale is a corner of Puglia to be discovered and there’s no better way to start than with a gourmet pizza night at Vitemia.

Ristorante Taverna della Gelosia | Ostuni

A gem in the heart of Ostuni! Sit under the wisteria (ask to be seated in the top terrace) and savor the romantic setting.

Cremeria History Vignola | Cisternino

Great views over the Valle d’Itria for a coffee, aperitivo or a sweet treat as their motto goes “life is sweet if you allow it.” Don’t leave without trying their lemon or pistachio gelato.

Cala Masciola | Savelletri

Borgo Egnazia — a magical “village” with overflowing bougainvillea, golden tufa, monochromatic limestone interiors, endless expanses of olive groves never disappoints, even when it comes to their private beach club, where life at sea simply becomes a tad sweeter.
